On the 31st of May Holland played their friendly against Ghana with a 1 – 0 victory. They wore the away kit for the first time and they looked fresh on the pitch. Up close the bright blue going down in diamond shapes to deep purplish dark blue and from afar this gradient effect really worked as an energetic blue glow on the dark kit. Happy with the result.
The past two years I’ve been working at Nike Global Football Apparel to design football kits for the coming World Cup 2014 in Brazil. As a Dutch footballer and designer I am really proud to announce I have designed the Dutch home and away kits! It has been an epic experience and the designs are really well received by the coach Mr. van Gaal, the KNVB board, the players and especially the normally very critical media.
I’ve been working on the visual campaign of the new Tropenmuseum exhibition called Black & White.
Who is black and who is white? Who actually determines this? And what does the slavery past have to do with this? 150 years after the abolition of slavery, the Tropenmuseum will invite visitors to engage in discussion, with each other and with themselves in the exhibition Black & White.
I used two overlaying screens: a green and red to create a fake ‘black’, in reality a sepia, the color of most images shown from the archive. The green red and black stand for the Black Independent colors as well. The 3 quotes are part of the 10 quotes used in the exhibition’s discussion around being ‘black’ or ‘white’. A fourth poster about Black Piet was censored. Isn’t that ironic?
Our photo shoot was earlier this year for only now to be released. Zeeburgia Saturday 2 plays in full red this and coming season.
