I just finished the poster for the coming Spinoza Day 2010, Spinoza en het Verschil (Spinoza and the Difference). I was working on it with a typographical approach when I received the final image of Marques. In the mean time I got a lot of commentary on the poster I was working on, mostly about the messy non-legibility of it. So with the final image I did an alternative last night, very classic, very divine golden ratio stuff, but funny. Where Mickey Mouse meets Raphael. Going for this one and the deadline closing, the in between man agreed on it, but eventually the client preferred the first approach: “More pamflet is what we like”. So back to the drawing board (killed the old one) and made it from scratch. Kept the Mickey Mouse though. Wouldn’t want you to miss out on the alternative, I like it.
